Time is Ticking! RUN, do not WALK to your nearest Learning Commons!

There are now only seven days left until the end of the quarter and we have seen some of you in here putting together fantastic presentations, asking us how to use NoodleBib, and working on group projects with your peers.

For those of you still struggling with that paper or project we wanted to let you know we are here to help you. We can work with you to narrow down your chosen topic, develop a strategy for researching your topic, or answer any questions about how to format your citations.

With only seven days left in the quarter here is some information to keep on hand:

  • Library and Media Services Hours
  • Computer Lab Hours
  • Academic Skills Center Hours
  • A Librarian will be available this Saturday during our open hours, 12PM to 5PM
  • The Reference Desk on the 3rd floor is staffed by Librarians Monday through Friday from 10AM to 2PM
  • This Saturday, December 6th, the Reference Desk will be staffed by a Librarian who will be available to help and answer any questions
  • Laptops are available for check out at the Circulation and Information Desk on the 2nd floor for in-Library use
  • If you are at home during our open Library hours you can reach someone in the Library via Meebo on our Need Help? Ask the Librarian page

The Learning Commons also has plenty of computer workstations for information searching and getting your work done, but if you need a mental break we are your oasis. We have a splendid selection of fiction books to page through, as well as lounge areas to kick back and take in a short novel. Board games are available if you want to get a group of classmates together and celebrate the end of the quarter with a leisurely game of Scrabble.

Don’t be shy! All questions are smart questions and we are here to help, but ACT NOW while there is still time!

Are you one of the many people who are more visual learners?

Do you prefer watching a documentary on TV or Online instead of reading a book?

Well, have no fear….Frontline is here!

PBS has a great documentary series called Frontline with topics ranging from:

  • Global Warming
  • Past and future presidencies
  • Health issues
  • Past, Present, and current wars
  • And a whole lot more……

Now you can watch past Frontline documentaries (all the way back to 1983 – yes, there was important news back in the ’80′s) streaming on your computer. Remember, media like this can be used in research papers and cited using NoodleBib!

So grab some popcorn, pull up a comfy chair, and learn while you watch.
