From the monthly archives: "June 2010"

Welcome back LWTC students, and hello to all the new ones! You may or may not know about all the wonderful services that the Learning Commons has to offer to students. Just a few of these are:

  • Two amazing librarians who can help you with all your research needs, from collecting data from databases, to formatting your works cited page.
  • Tons of PC’s, Mac’s and Laptops loaded with all the most popular software (Microsoft Office, Photoshop, etc..)
  • A huge collection of online databases containing tens of thousands of journals and electronic books
  • A digital media studio filled with top of the line software and hardware for students and staff to create 21st century multimedia products.
  • And a great staff to help you with your scholastic needs and answer any questions you may have.

The Learning Commons/Library will be open the following days/times during Summer Quarter:

Monday — Thursday 7:30am – 7:00pm

Friday 7:30am – 5:00pm

Saturday 11:00am – 5:00pm

You can also befriend us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and watch our videos on Youtube!

So… Stop on by and study, relax and check your Facebook!

The Library will be open during the break, so come on in!  The schedule will be as follows.

Monday-Friday         7:30am-4:30pm

Saturday-Sunday      Closed

The Computer Lab and ASC are closed over the break, but the ASC will be doing ESL testing over the break.  If you need to sign up for a test, or have any questions regarding ESL tests/classes, please come to the circualation desk at the library.

WOW! Check out the amazing job the students in the Auto Collision Repair Technology department did on our plain, old book cart. When you see the Librarians rolling this Bad-Boy around campus, you know they mean business. A special shout-out to Thom Bianco and Dennis Depue for taking on this project and showing another stellar example of partnership at LWTC.

As the end of the quarter approaches you will probably have papers and essays due real soon.  For those of you who do not know, Noodlebib is an excellent tool in creating properly formatted APA and MLA works cited pages.  Click the play button below to watch the instructional video made and narrated by our very own Cheyenne Roduin.
